A Bakery & Prepared Foods Specialist works with our valued client and the senior leadership team to lead compliance efforts, execute training initiatives, keep up to date knowledge with industry trends, set performance expectations, guidelines, and business plans.

What is the Impact of a Bakery & Prepared Foods Specialist?

The Bakery & Prepared Foods Specialist is the face of Acosta for both the retailer and the client. You will directly impact sales and profits by continuously evaluating, training, influencing, & communicating best practices and expectations with members of the Bakery & Prepared Foods department.

Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • Influence and teach employees to ensure our team is equipped with knowledge to support the Bakery/Prepared Foods, Fresh Foods, and/or Seafood/Deli department on a day-to-day basis.
  • Independently travel and visit stores with a strong understanding of each unique location to ensure training standards and requirements are met.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to ensure performance and financial metrics are achieved.
  • Collaborate with customer to identify areas of development opportunity for associates.
  • Work closely with Acosta’s customer base to understand present training needs, assign and execute formalized training programs, plans and curriculum that align with the business needs.
  • Developing and overseeing change recommendations that drive financial and operational performance for the market.
  • Communicate feedback from training sessions to the Acosta Team and align with Regional Fresh Directors & Market Managers on global initiatives.

Qualifications

What you will bring to the team:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to freely and as part of a team set up displays, take part in resets and remodels.
  • Understanding & knowledge of Bakery, Prepared Foods, Meat, Café, Produce, Floral, Freezer, Cooler, and Deli production skills within the clubs.
  • Ability to influence and support leaders to implement best practices.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft office products which include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage financials, including P&L responsibilities.
  • Technical experience in core retail Fresh Foods, Bakery and/or Deli operations and/or supervisory/management preferred.
  • Willingness to travel using valid driver’s license.
  • Food Safety Certification (provided by company if needed)
  • High School Diploma/GED
