Overview

The Retail Sales Representative (RSR) provides sales coverage supported by merchandising expertise for their assigned retail territory.  They are responsible for representing ACOSTA and Starbucks through store coverage and executing sales and merchandising objectives as set forth by their Manager to achieve superior in-store sales results in an assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  1. As established by management, The RSR will deliver sales results against initiatives for Starbucks in assigned territories by selling against promotion, scale events, display opportunities, etc.
  2. Meets Starbucks expectations for driving sales by managing territory effectively.
  3. Assists Retail Managers RM on retail initiatives as assigned.
  4. Deliver superior KPI results through active visit & time management.
  5. Maintains Siren’s Ladder fixtures as required by Starbucks.  Report issues accurately & timely.
  6. Answer all NARS questions assigned accurately & report any issues via store comments section of handheld device.  Transmit Data daily.
  7. Effectively communicate client information to store personnel.  Communicate to RM when not met and provide substantiation.
  8. Achieve new item speed to shelf and existing item placement in effort to maintain full distribution according to Starbucks guidelines.
  9. Reports observations to RM regarding pricing issues as well as new category innovation, display vehicles, & competitive product activity.
  10. Rotates stock, clean and stock display and price merchandise as appropriate.
  11. Performs such duties as checking date codes, ensuring adherence to approved plan-o-gram.
  12. Reports accurate information into Acosta’s proprietary network and transmitted on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Prior retail experience (to include Retail Sales) preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time.
  • Must be available for overnight travel.
  • Must be available for occasional weekend work (Demos and Food Shows).  Must be flexible to work nights and holidays. (Night and holiday work will be pre-defined by position).
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others.  Must have good vision and be able to operate a calculator, fax machine, telephone, copier, hand truck, hammer, screwdriver and case cutter.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • This position requires that you drive on behalf of Acosta Sales & Marketing, and able to provide documentation of valid driver’s license.
